Well, it wont be free. The class bit is the most expensive part but you'll still have the fees that go along with the state DPS and background checks and fingerprinting. When I did it it was about $70. If you get a permit application from the PD it will list the fees on it. If you get down there grab a bunch. It'll save me a trip.
There's an indoor range in Guilford that allows everything from handguns to rifles and they even rent machine guns! I'm going to go check it out this weekend maybe.

Why would the National Rifle Association want to certify people to carry pistols?
Despite the contradiction, I would love to have a free and unearned pistol permit.
