I've followed the death of Captain America thing a little. It was pretty clear from the beginning that Bucky was going to take over. This story makes it look like Marvel pulled that out of their asses to get fans to shut up. And I don't think the gun thing was meant to be controversial, Cap kills people all the time. And the writer oversimplifies how the death of Cap was some kind of political allegory. The storyline at the time of his death was all about superhero registration and Cap was leading some kind of resistance against the government. This quote, though: "Fans are clearly split as to whether a handgun can ever be tolerated on a superhero long regarded as a symbol of untainted righteousness." I guess the writer things guns are not righteous?
